In August 1931 the Nazi Party decided to have its own intelligence and security body. Heinrich Himmler therefore created the SD (Sicherheitsdienst). Reinhard Heydrich was appointed head of the organization and it was kept distinct from the uniformed SS (Schutzstaffel).

When Adolf Hitler became chancellor in 1933 the SD was given extra power to deal with all opposition to the Nazi government. On 30th June 1934, the SD played an important role in the Night of the Long Knives.

In 1936 Richard Heydrich became head of the SD and the Gestapo. On the outbreak of the Second World War both these organizations became part of the Reich Security Administration (RSHA). After Heydrich was assassinated in 1942 Heinrich Himmler became the leader of the SD. The following year he was replaced by Ernst Kaltenbrunner.

There was great competition between the SD and the German military intelligence organization, Abwehr. In June, 1944 Himmler took over Abwehr and after the July Plot the organization was absorbed into the SD.

At the Nuremberg War Trials the SD (Sicherheitsdienst) was declared a criminal organization and membership of it made its men liable to prosecution.

Ex-Secret Service Agent Details 'Shockingly' Racist Abuse Endured By Michelle Obama

A former Secret Service agent has detailed the racist abuse that was leveled at Michelle Obama during her time as first lady, and her frustration and inability as an assigned protector to do anything about it.

“I could do nothing,” Evy Poumpouras told Insider in an article published Wednesday. “There’s freedom of speech in the United States, and even if I personally feel that speech is wrong, the law doesn’t give me the power to take that person’s speech away.”

“When it came to speech, they could call them names,” Poumpouras recalled. “They could say whatever they wanted so long as there was no imminent threat of harm.”

In Poumpouras’ 2020 memoir “Becoming Bulletproof,” she revealed how Obama had as the first Black first lady withstood “certain kinds of disparagement that none of her predecessors ever faced.”

She recalled one particularly ugly incident:

I was on her protective detail when we were driving to a school to deliver a speech we passed someone on a bridge holding up a shockingly racist sign directed at her. I remember feeling outraged — after all, it was part of our job to protect the first family mentally as well as physically. But if the first lady saw the sign, she gave no indication of it. We arrived at the school and she walked out with her head held high, ready to inspire all of the students eagerly waiting for her.

Obama has frequently spoken about the racism she faced during the eight years that her husband, former President Barack Obama, was in the White House.

“Knowing that after eight years of working really hard for this country, there are still people who won’t see me for what I am because of my skin color,” Obama said in 2017.

Avoid Mystery Shopper Job Scams

If you have to pay an upfront fee to become a mystery shopper, that’s always a scam. When you’re looking for mystery shopper jobs, here are ways you can avoid scams:

  • Don’t pay to work. Honest companies pay you, not charge you, to work for them. Even if they say the money is really for a certification, training, or a guaranteed job, don’t do it. No real job, including mystery shopping, involves paying to get the job. You’ll find out the certification is worthless, and there’s probably no job.
  • Don’t pay for a list of mystery shopping jobs. You can get that information free.
  • Never wire money as part of a mystery shopping assignment. A scammer might send you a check, say, for buying products, tell you to deposit it and wire money back for “taxes,” “fees,” or some other reason. This is a classic scammer move. Wiring money is like sending cash — once you send with a company like MoneyGram or Western Union, you probably can’t get it back.
  • Never deposit checks into your bank account and send money back. It doesn’t matter who it’s from or what they say it’s for — don’t do it. This is a fake check scam. Any money withdrawn from your account is your own money since the check is worthless.
  • Don’t apply for mystery shopping jobs that guarantee you can make a lot of money. Only scammers make these guarantees. And only scammers say that you’ll be able to quit your job and do this full-time. Mystery shopping jobs are typically part-time work and don’t usually pay enough to replace a full-time job.
  • Don’t respond to a job notice saying it’s withMSPA. The Mystery Shoppers Professionals Association (MSPA) is a trade association for the customer experience industry. MSPA doesn’t hire or advertise for mystery shoppers. But they do have a list of service provider companies that you can register with to find possible mystery shopping jobs.

Also, search online for the company name with the words “review,” “complaint,” or “scam.” It’s a good idea to see what others are saying about the company before you pursue a job with them. And talk with someone you trust to get their opinion before you take the job.

Donald Trump's Adult Children Are Still Costing Taxpayers Thousands Of Dollars A Day

Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump ― three of ex-President Donald Trump’s adult children — continue to stick taxpayers with the cost of their Secret Service protection.

They racked up more than $140,000 in charges in the first month following President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20, according to watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which analyzed Secret Service spending records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

Agents protecting Trump’s progeny spent $52,296.75 on travel and $88,678.39 on hotel costs during the 30-day period, including on trips to Salt Lake City, Miami and New York, the group said Wednesday.

It works out to around $4,699 per day.

And the total costs to taxpayers could be even higher, because the Secret Service “did not provide records of spending at Trump businesses, which is the most controversial aspect of the extended protection,” CREW added.

Remember how we were investigating how much Trump’s children’s extended Secret Service protection would cost taxpayers? We got an answer: over $140K in just 30 days after Trump left office, and there’s likely more we don’t know about.

&mdash Citizens for Ethics (@CREWcrew) May 6, 2021

That the Trump offspring can benefit from publicly funded security details at all is down to their father’s six-month extension of their protection following his departure from the White House.

Only the ex-president, former first lady Melania Trump and their son Barron, 15, are entitled to automatic protection.

Trump, however, extended the perk to his aforementioned kids (plus youngest daughter Tiffany Trump) and their partners in the final days of his administration.

“While it may be tempting to put the story of the Trump family’s profiteering in the past, we cannot until they have actually stopped directing taxpayer money into their own bank accounts,” said the group, which has long exposed instances of taxpayer money being funneled to Trump properties. “Thanks to Trump’s unusual extension of their protection, they’ve got a few more months to continue the grift.”

Higher SS and Police Leaders

In 1937, Himmler created a new SS and police position. It was called Higher SS and Police Leader ( Höhere SS- und Polizeiführer , HSSPF). In each military district ( Wehrkreis ), an HSSPF would represent all interests of the SS and police. This included the Security Police, the SD, and the Order Police. It also represented the interests of non-police organizations such as the Waffen-SS.

The HSSPFs were part of the merging of the SS and police. As such, they held both an SS and a police rank. Most often they held the ranks SS lieutenant general and general of the police ( SS Obergruppenführer und General der Polizei ). These committed SS leaders answered directly to Himmler. They often had subordinates called SS and Police Leaders ( SS- und Polizeiführer-SSPF ).

At the time of the position’s creation, there were thirteen military districts. Thus, there were thirteen HSSPFs. The men who became HSSPFs shared an ideological worldview and background. Many of them had served in World War I and then continued fighting after 1918 as part of right-wing paramilitaries. They were early members of the SS and committed Nazis.

At first the HSSPFs in Germany had very little actual power. However, the numbers and power of the HSSPFs grew as Nazi Germany expanded right before and during World War II. At the peak of Nazi administration, there were at least 35 HSSPFs who oversaw large areas.

&ldquoVery pleased&rdquo

I have my 4th date with Crystal today. She's absolutely stunning. My cousin first told me about this site. Joined up at first wanting to find a nsa deal but after dating a couple of other girls, Crystal contacted me and she changed everything. Cutting to the chase, I love that this site has helped me find such a beautiful girl. Really pleased with my entire experience here. Thank you for delivering a great service.

&ldquoCancelled my membership without providing any reason&rdquo

Around 2 weeks after joining the site, my membership was cancelled. Someone by the name of "Adrian" emailed me, saying that I violated their terms. 3 times, I asked which terms I had violated given that my profile did not break any of the rules that are provided on their site. They failed to tell me which rule/term I violated. I paid a lot of money only to have my membership terminated without cause.

What was the difference between the SS and the Gestapo in terms of who they reported to, their roles and their powers?

Originally the Prussian Secret Police, when Hitler was voted in as Chancellor he tasked Hermann Göring as the Interior Minister of Prussia. This gave him the ability to control the large police force. After he brought a few Nazi officers into the Prussian Secret Police, he politically merged intelligence and police into the Gestapo. In 1935, Hitler appointed Heinrich Himmler - the leader of his SS - to Chief of German Police, effectively giving him power over the Gestapo and auxiliary offices. Side note: Göring didn't exactly get booted - he was appointed head of the Luftwaffe and President of the Reichstag later on.

Although they were portrayed by Nazi propaganda as police and peace keepers, much of the Gestapo influence was used to intimidate and detain enemies of the Party. To direct toward your question, the Gestapo was essentially a brutal police force that was brought in to subdue conquered people. They become confusedly affiliated with the SS because they were all run by Himmler later on.

While the SA was essentially a private army (less the killing, more the hooliganism) for the early Nazi party, Hitler wanted a strongly regimented and well-trained private body guard for himself. Enter Himmler, who implemented rigid qualifications for the SS (including racial qualifications, Nazi and Norse ideology, and the usual racial hatred). Himmler turned the SS from a small bodyguard to the most powerful semi-special forces in the Third Reich. Unlike the Wehrmacht and the SA (who were essentially forgotten when the SS came to power in 1934), the SS swore fealty to Hitler and the Reich, not to Germany or it's people. The SS had several divisions which I won't go into, but their tasks were everything from front-line specialized infantry to the protection of Nazi officials. The Waffen-SS, which is most popularly known, was versatile but both protected Hitler himself and administered the concentration camps.

TLDR: The Gestapo was the secret police that hunted down enemies of the Reich, while the SS were the brain-child of Himmler, a specially trained division of the military which participated in everything from invasions to crimes against humanity. They were both eventually headed by Himmler, although the Gestapo existed before him.

Secret Service agent dies training at Bush compound in Kennebunkport

KENNEBUNKPORT , Maine &mdash A service was held Saturday for a 50-year-old secret service agent who died while training during his shift at the Bush family compound at Walker's Point in Kennebunkport.

Keith Mills, a Secret Service officer who protected the late President George H.W. Bush and former President George W. Bush, died Sunday, April 25, during training, said his brother Todd Mills of Gorham.

An autopsy has been conducted, but the cause of death was not released.

Mills' death is considered a line-of-duty death.

The Portland Press Herald reported a service was held Saturday, May 1, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco with a heavy presence from local law enforcement agencies throughout Maine and New Hampshire, troopers from the Maine State Police and Secret Service agents.

In a statement, former President George W. Bush said he and his wife Laura "were saddened by the sudden loss of Keith Mills." Bush called Mills a "dedicated public servant and exemplary member of the United States Secret Service.

Mills, a Biddeford native, graduated from Biddeford High School in 1989 and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Southern Maine in 1992, according to his obituary. His law enforcement career began at age 18 as a corrections officer with the York County Sheriff's Office. He served as a reserve officer with the Ogunquit Police Department, then he worked 10 years for the Kennebunkport Police Department. Mills joined the Secret Service in 2002.

"Keith was kind and considerate. While generally reserved, his sense of humor could either break the ice in a delicate situation or just absolutely crack up an entire room into loud laughter," his obituary states. "He was funny, he could be a prankster sometimes, but mostly he was a voice of reason, love and caring. He mentored all that knew him in some way, though he wasn&rsquot necessarily trying to do so."
